Things are ALWAYS going missing around here. You wouldn't think it is possible, it is really not that big of a place...but it happens CONSTANTLY.
The most frequently missing-in-action items are the cable and dvr remotes...the WII remotes come in a close second.
But sometimes...
Okay...more than sometimes...it is items from my pocketbook.
Altoids are never safe...
Lip balm appears to be a special treat (one I would have never considered the least bit edible!)...
Lotion makes great finger paint...
But occasionally, it is the important things that go missing...
Like the car keys...
or like yesterday...my card case...containing ID, debit cards...you know, all that vital can't-leave-home-without-it stuff.
Frantic searching of its last known whereabouts yields...assorted change, a missing lip balm, a random button, crumpled receipts...better known as the dregs of the pocketbook...
A search of the desk reveals...about 40 random pencils, unclipped coupons, camera batteries, 6 different usb cables, scattered kiddie drawings...an appointment reminder card...but not my card case...rats...
An offer of a $5 reward yields...zip...apparently it HAS just vanished into thin air. I thought that was an impossibility...
Since a reward was futile, that necessitated a full scale every-nook-and-cranny search...an hour and a half...searching every crevice of the sofas and chairs, every cubbyhole and drawer and basket...
and then...
out of the corner of my eye...EUREKA!!!
under the sewing machine, under the bag of polyfil, barely peeking out...I'm lucky I even noticed it!
Beware of gremlins...they come in cute packages!!
