Enjoying the little things.

Sometimes in a hectic day of running around, cleaning up, picking up, changing diapers, taming mountains of laundry, and spelunking under beds in search of missing dishes, the little things can seem to pass you by.

I really try not to let that happen. The time we have with our little ones is so fleeting. I want to enjoy as much as possible!

I like to think that I am a pretty hands on mom, spending as much time interacting with and teaching all of my kids as I can each day. Sometimes it is hard to find the time...I am a busy work-at-home (blogging, crafting, ChaCha.com...oh that is FUN! :D), wife-homemaker-mom to 7 kids ages 18 mos to 16 years (and home schooling the 3yo!)...things run at a hectic pace around here!

Sometimes there are other issues going on with one of the kids that makes that one on one time with them less about enjoying the moment and more about constructive criticism and instruction...ages and stages, right? (Read as :Teens seriously try your patience!!)

BUT

I get to totally let go and enjoy the little things with my littlest. I really enjoy this age. Personality, language, and social skills are blossoming so fast. It is such a joy teaching him and watching him explore the world. He has a favorite video...I think I've mentioned Eebee before, LOL. His favorite song from the video is a fun little reggae ditty called Dancing to my Mama's Beat (see the video clip here). He really loves that song! And every time it plays, he comes running to me to dance. So we dance...a LOT! LOL.

I’m a-dancin’ to my mama’s beat
I’m a-dancin’ on my mama’s feet
I’m a-dancin’ all the world’s a-spin
I’m a-dancin’,cause my dancin’ makes my mama grin
I’m a dancin’ hey it’s 1-2-3
I’m a dancin’ take a look at me
I’m a dancin’ and I’ve got such style
I’m a dancin’, cause my dancin’ makes my mama smile
I’m a dancin’ it’s right, left, right
I’m a dancin’ and it’s quite a sight
I’m a dancin’ and I’ll tell you this
I’m a dancin’, cause my dancin’ gets my mama’s kiss
Everybody!
